Grasses in borders have become very popular. This upright one needs well-drained soil in full sun and reaches three feet

Yes, some are a bit free with their seeds. I wanted something about three feet high among some penstemons and reckoned I wanted three plants. I went to a nursery a few weeks back and they had just three left of this one - which I took to be an omen :-)
