Bush Katydid

Bush Katydid

Another nocturnal visitor. They have very long antennae, longer than their bodies - but this fellow only has one and it's hard to see (look to the left). They also make a chirping sound.

Would a house gecko tackle a Katydid? There were 2 geckos on the ceiling in my son's house one evening, and one K. Next day the K was gone - all doors and windows shut, so it couldn't have got out.

Hi Shirleypoppy. Yes I'm sure geckos would tackle katydids. I have seen them take on huge moths and even praying mantids. They seem to be quite fearless!
