I hope that they are the smelly ones. You must keep picking them to stop them from going to seed. It's great to see that you are having success with these. They are looking really good. Have the other members told you to pnch the tops out to get bushier plants?

OOoo, they're bigger than mine - mine have just started poking their noses out of the compost. They're on the kitchen window sill in pots - hope they start growing soon.

Sorry Jacque. I didn't mean to sound like a know it all. It's just that you said that you said that the ones you grew last year were not as good as this year's and that GOY members had helped you. I didn't know if they had told you about pinching out.

17 Feb, 2009

Dont be silly Toto i dont think ur a know it all i know your trying 2 help just as Many Other Members do here on GOY its good to be Told just in case i had`nt done :)

Yes tell me about pinching out please......I have some just peeping through and some about 2" high with only one set of leaves!...
Juliano asked me what to do on my pic of Sweet Peas and I wasn't too sure.

17 Feb, 2009

When there are 2 sets of leaves, pinch out the tops and the plants become fuller and not all leggy.

yours look lovely Jac, the ones i sowed on the kitchen window sil have gone very leggy not sure why maybe not enough light or too much heat? will cut them down a bit and put them in the greenhouse i think and see what happens.
