Enzedder's Profile

We live in the small town of Kaiapoi, just north of Christchurch in New Zealand. Have recently moved to a new townhouse with just a tiny garden area, which we are in the throes of developing. Much of the area was covered in bark chips by the builder, and we are now discovering the reason why........bark covers a multitude of sins !...shingle, sawdust, lumps of concrete, remains of old gates etc. Against the wooden fences (painted black on the advice of someone who said this would give a small area more depth), we have planted a few climbers....clematis, pandorea and clianthus. Borders are to remain narrow, but with a variety of perennials, with just a few annuals.
