I like to see stones, especially when they weather and have moss on them, or if they have veins of quartz running through. These seem to have been put there by humans for some reason. They'd look nice in a rockery :o))

We saw lots of them Hywel, I think they were originally put at the entrance to fields to keep out gypsies though how they get deeper in to the wooded areas I dont know. I just love the way they have aged.

Interesting, and attractive to especially as you say when covered in lichen/moss. About a mile outside Chester City there are sandstones placed in a line but many yards apart and only to the South. I think they are some sort of boundary. They have the initials of Mayors of bygone times.
