Hi everyone, bit late putting this on, time goes so quickly, thought you might like to see some of the photos I took at the show.

Me and hubby go to the show together every year and went on the Friday, we were inside the halls from the start, so didnt really see the rain, however could hear it pelting down on the roof quite a few times stopping and starting, so were glad to be undercover.

Didnt get my photo taken with Carol this year, but we did see Joe Swift come on the stage, and we did get a glimpse of the ‘Hairy Bikers’ at a book signing.

Wandered around the halls taking in the sights and looked round the Plant Avenue where there did seem to be some nice plants this year, but I think there is always something interesting to tempt you isnt there, you always find something else that you would like from the plant world.

I always like to have a good look first before I buy anything but then you take the risk of the plants being gone when you go back to the stalls, which is what happened this time, we saw a nice Actae ‘Pink Spires’ but unfortunately when we went back this had gone. Should have got it there and then!

Decided I wanted some Campanula tekesimana to go with some heucheras I have , here they are in situ:-

They do need to grow a bit taller to get the effect I want.

We also went round the Floral Marquee, obviously a must, its the best bit. I took a few photos in there too and bought a few more plants:-

I bought Miscanthus sinensis ‘Zebrinus’ and a regal pelagonium as my 10 year old daughter is showing an interest in these (surprisingly) a pretty peachy one with a burgundy splodge.

Just before we left we had a look around the show gardens :-

And finally, a pretty osteospermum that caught my eye, lovely colour I thought, quite getting into the hot zingy colours lately, and I bought two Achilleas ‘Paprika’ and ‘Tricolour’ which are both dark orangey colours.

Thankyou for looking. :))

Thanks Daylily, lovely to see the show! What a shame it was raining but it doesn't seem to spoil the gardens and those inside displays look fabulous. I really like the plants you are putting together, the colours and textures look so good together.

Great photos Daylily, shame it was raining I think the exhibitors had a really rough deal this year with the weather. I think the recession also had a big impact as there didn`t seem to be the amount of stands in the floral marque this year.
At least you got some nice plants love the Osteo and the Achilleas beautiful colour on both of them.

Hi Marion thanks, yes they seem to be easy to grow, they like sunny position and well drained soil, I have a few other dark pink ones and they grew really well last year, hopefully these new ones will bulk up aswell :)
