Gardeners World Live Birmingham 2025

Me and hubby had a day out yesterday 14th June to GW Live at the NEC Birmingham, turned out to a very pleasant day weather wise and was pretty warm. Last time we went was 2022 and that was a very hot day too.
We decided to do the show gardens first then the plants. I’ve added a few pictures below of the show gardens. All the show gardens were very full of plants π It was very busy and was fairly hard to get a decent photo.
I can’t believe I only bought 1 plant in the end as much of what was on sale was pretty much the same as what I already have (not everything of course) but there wasn’t too much that really stood out and a couple of things I had my eye on looked good plants but then were loose in the soil (is it wind rock) so didn’t get them. Alot of the plants were very tall and leggy. Would have got a purple shrubby salvia but that had wind rock and also a dwarf Alstroe Moon but sold out.
So I got Agapanthus Poppin Purple, looks a decent healthy plant and wasn’t too expensive at Β£10 just got to see if it is hardy enough to get through winter. (Will add photo separately)
I think a visit to the garden centres is on the cards π thank you for looking in π
This caught my eye, anyone know what it is
Oh and not forgetting I saw Rosie Hardy and shook her hand and said I have been watching her YouTube videos she said hope your enjoying them (also saw Nick Bailey from a distance) didn’t see anyone else famous this year
And also saw Karen’s Rhodanthemum in Nick Baileys garden (didn’t realise it was his garden until i watched on TV)π
Ps it’s a little faffy doing a blog from your phone and tablet π and sorry it’s a little higgledy-piggledy lol π
Liked this display and the variagated sedum caught me eye, hoping my kniphofias are going to give me a show this year
Thought I would add this one as I am missing my philadelphus flowers this year after chopping it back last year π
Pheww think that’s it for now hard work doing a blog lol π

I was tempted to go this year DL...saw the coverage on GW programme and the show gardens were more appealing. Thank you for persevering with the blog.

Thanks for sharing your day out, Jane! A real
bonus the weather was perfect too.
Iβm loving the third pic especially, love the design and the gorgeous purple planting between the paving.
Sorry I canβt help with the plant I.D. Maybe someone else will know what is is straightaway π€
Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the amount of choice and end up with nothing!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the visit.
