Had a couple of days off work last week and had chance to get in the garden with the weather being so nice. Only did a couple of hours each day but happy with the progress. I managed to weed one side border and planted a couple of plants I have had for a while in their pots. I planted up my Philadelphus “Silver Showers”, this has not flowered for me yet, was a free plant from a magazine, (i think it is about 2/3 years old) between a Cornus Alternifolia Argentea and Japanese Maple and also planted my Campanula “Pink Octopus” in front of maple and Geranium Phaeum Somobor in front of Cornus. Not had chance to do the lawns yet, but pleased was able to get a bit done. This website really inspires you to get out there, i was enthusiastic before but since joining GOY alot more so!

Sunshine really does help us get motivated...good for you beginning to get your borders in shape...little at a time and you won't wear yourself out.

Enjoy your garden, Daylily....glad you are also enjoying GoY...it's a real find, I agree :)

thanks all for your comments, it does wear you out abit doesnt it, i lifted a polemonium (jacobs ladder) that had been in about 4 years, not a massive clump but was surprised at how tough it was to get out,but again, really enjoyed it being able to get outside.

Well done daylily - I'm glad you had a good time in the garden - after such a long winter it's a real joy being able to get outside and you get such a sense of achievement - I bet you're feeling really happy now..

thanks mariek, yes very happy, hope i can get it looking nice as although i have some established shrubs sort of starting the garden from scratch again after having extension and reshaping lawn, so lots of new planting to do, but all part of the fun!
