I can’t believe it, the sun has been out all day, It’s 3.20pm and the sun is still shining, I’ve been out in the garden most of this afternoon redoing a path. The boiler man came to check the boiler was ok and took £65 off me …. ah well, I’ll have to carry on working a bit longer : )

The dentist …… I have a cracked tooth, they are going to take the nerve out, Is it call a root canal ???? If the crack is too far gone, the tooth will have to come out, can’t get in for this procedure till the end of October, so i’ll have to start saving up, never thought to ask how much it’ll cost.

I’m not a fan of pigeons of any kind, the come into the garden and eat everything, they’re like vacuum cleaners, they bring their families with them, I can just hear them saying.. hey doris, let’s go into this garden, they have lots of food. They waddle down the path, I point my finger at them and dare them to come any closer, I know what they’re thinking, I’ll come back when you’re not there, that’s what there thinking. : )

(sorry to pigeon lovers)

Hi Daff its 4pm and the sun is still shining here as well, glad you are getting your teeth sorted even though you have to wait. I've done quite abit in my garden today, you know a little bit of sunshine makes me wont to do more in the garden, the sun i think is like a tonic for me.

It's raining in York, again. When I was living back in Glasgow, I used to moan all the time about the weather and how you never got ceaseless rain in York. This summer's proved me wrong. But at least there's no freezing wind, which is nice!

Your right Clarice, the sun is a tonic, It makes everyone more friendly, or it seems that way, let's hope for a nice weekend.

You come from one of my favorite places, I use to visit Blackpool every year, sometimes twice, I do miss it.

Sorry about your tooth, Daff - dare I ask if you have an NHS dentist? Enough of teeth. Not a good subject. We had some sun today, too - it really lifts your spirits, doesn't it! Husband got nagged into cutting the grass. This is a mammoth task in my garden, he fills 6 or 7 large plastic boxes with grass and then only some of it can go into the compost bin. The rest has to be transported 9 miles to the tip. I did some of the edging, the rest will have to be done tomorrow if the weather holds. Fingers crossed!

Root canals are not that bad daff and you do get to keep your teeth longer ,
It has been raining here most of the day , we went of to look at some multi fuel woodburners , to try to save a bit on the electric and gas , it seems that we will have to alter the shape of our fireplace to fit one in . Watch this space LOL

hi amy, just spent the morning sweeping our chimney, cleaning up and filling up ready for the first fire, which will probably be tonight! i bet when i walk through the front door at 10 pm the fire is on and the room is hot, cos the last few nights have been cold , but we are holding off with the central heating cos i am not a millionaire!!....lol
make sure you get the right size fire for your room otherwise it may get so hot you will have to sit outside!

Glad you had some sun. I'm in Holland now and it was sunny this morning. At lunch time the rain arrived and it got cold. I understand you sent it from England. I guess you are right Autumn is not far away, and we are thinking about wood suppies for our stoves too. Better chop a few dead trees down when we get home.

Amy, we're planning to move to norfolk in a few years, hope it doesn't rain all the time, or i'll be coming round to warm myself on your woodburner, I will bring a few logs with me : ) would like to see what you eventually get.

Spritzhenry, I am fortunate that i am with the NHS, I have to eat on my right side, until i forget and then it's painful.

We are slowly getting rid of the grass, not got a big garden and i fill it to the brim with everything i can get my hands on. I'm hoping to get mine mowed tomorrow afternoon, unless your husband wants some extra work : )

Chrispook, I have never been to Holland, maybe some day. What i want is a living flame gas fire, I love to watch flames, soft music and a glass of wine .... I'd better wake up. : )
