Use your local "freecycle" for free plants etc

Hi GYO folks! Just want to point out, if you’re not a member of your local “freecycle” (or even “cheapcycle”) groups, with yahoo, get signed up! There are loads of ads offering gardening plants, topsoil, garden furniture, sheds, greenhouses. etc, all for free!!! Of course, you’d have to travel to pick the plants up. I’m getting 3 rhubarb plants for £2 on my local “cheapcycle” group, it would have cost me at least £15 from the local garden centre.

If this is news to anyone, and it helps anyone, let me know? Otherwise, I’ve made myself look really stupid……….. :-(

Thanks Gilli and Toto! Just making sure I'm not going round the loop! It's hard when finances are tight but you need something to cheer you up and have something to look forward to! I went out into the garden today and discovered something flowering, not sure what tho'! (grins!) I know it's a decidous bush of some sort. I can't even take a piccie coz my hubby hasn't got the chip back yet from his work photo's from China! Grrrrrr!!

Thanks Paulthegard and Lincslass. The reason I love the freecycle so much, is it reduces the amount of waste peeps would otherwise throw in the bin. Wish more stuff would get passed around this way, particularly with the credit crises we've got at the moment.

Ooooh goody Gilli! I'm sooo pleased for you!! In my humble opinion this freecycle should have the warning that "waste not, want not!" as our grandparents used to tell us!!! Now I find myself giving things away that I wouldn't ordinarily think about!! (my hubby has got cross with me when I told him I was thinking of giving something away and I grossly underestimated how much we paid for it. Hubby remembered tho'! Lol!!)
