Need to apply undiluted TLC.

Yes, I concede, it looks a mess, but you should have seen it last week!!!

As I said in my profile, over a couple of summers I planted many, many climbers such as mini clematis and honeysuckle….the sort you get for £1.79 at the local supermarket. There’s also a couple of Hydrangea Petiolaris and some ivy, ANYTHING to try and cover the hideous, soil-less stones that make up my garden. Then I pretty much did nothing for a couple of years so it looked dejected and neglected.

I took the bull by the horns last week and got stuck in. It’s nowhere near enough coverage yet but it is getting there and everything is shooting nicely.

It looks like it must have been a massive job to clean it up - but it sure is looking good now and it will be great to see photos when some of those plants start to flower again.

Talk about making the best of a bad situation - in all aspects. This looks like the hanging gardens of Babylon in reverse. If we finally have a hot summer you will have a lovely shady bower to relax in.

Great steps. I always think steps make a garden more interesting. And ther's nothing wrong with cheap supermarket plants, is there? Gives you a real sense of stisfaction when you manage to grow them into big, strong flowering plants.
