I’ve just been watching old Real Gardens programmes on my computer and decided to buy some new plants for my garden…. oh dear! Anyone else do things like that?
I’ve bought myself some Salix (willow) plants as I saw a great idea for using them to build a living arch and I thought I could do the same sort of thing along my back path, they would lead through to it and hopefully suggest that there’s more to see behind. At the moment it looks like there’s just a back fence, until you go exploring. I’m thinking I could move a couple of clematis in the spring to climb around and over this structure to lead the eye on and through… or maybe I need another couple of Clematis…. one thing leads to another and another!

I think I was watching Prog 10 or 11 but may have been before that - it's the couple who are getting married and have already created 2 veg areas with willow and then they make a seat and a trellis type frame using willow...

I am so chuffed to get this link as I'm in the process of dreaming/planning our new back garden into reality. These programmes will be very useful.

Clematisa, you are not alone, one just have to look at my garden..... and the amounts of plants I constantly buy in a month to know I am totally plant crazy.... with or without gardening programmes. :))))). I shall check up that website now, thanking you :))))

Another garden addict says thankyou, my grandsons school now has a willow tunnel, its great, the children love it and its amazing how quickly it has grown.......

It's a really old programme series I think MOnty said something about 1999 but it's real people's gardens so that just makes it more interesting....

oh yes I do too. I have several on DVD, one of y favourites is the lost garden s of Heligan. or lost hooligans as we call it.
