This morning up here in the northwest it as been quite pleasant with the sun shinning, so on went my old garden coat and away in the garden i went, cut my grasses down, swept the paths, marigolds on cleaned all the birdfeeders & bird table, clean water in bird bath, got my garden fork and turned my compost around. then when the sun decided to go back in, i came inside made some lunch, & instead of getting my garden leaflets etc out, i got my coach trip leaflet out, sorted a day out booked it in, and i’m going to a country hotel for a 3 course lunch & then on to a new garden centre which that i’m looking forwould to the most, that is on the 5th feb, i’ve also booked 3 more day trips to garden centre’s that takes me up to 23rd April which is the Harrogate spring flower show, that opens on that day, i’m looking forwould to that one, so i’ll be going over the pennines into yorkshire.

You have certainly been busy Clarice........Its been pouring with rain here for most of the day...... Still im glad the cold frosty weather has gone for a while.......

It has been a bit damp hereabouts today too. I hoped to winter prune the damson and cooking apple trees but that will have to wait. Instead I skimmed the pond for leaves, tidied up the bird feeders, planted the replacement Christmas roses which had miraculously survived the freeze in their plastic pots and have sown sweet peas (old - fashioned, perennial and T&M's 'Night& Day') while sheltering in the greenhouse. The temperatures forecast for this and next week are more promising than of late.

Gosh you have been busy!

It is far too wet up here to be in the garden and my pond is still to frozen to do anything with!

It's no good going on a day trip unless there's a garden centre on the schedule :o)
Enjoy your days out Clarice.

Clarice, I hope you will still have time for GoY with all your outings! We've had rain all day here, very dark and dull. Don't tell anyone but I think I prefer the frost!!
