FLOWERS IN MY GARDEN NOW.

I’m shamelessly copying Louise. This is what is in flower this last week.

Lilium regale in the corner circle patio.

Unknown lily in north facing border.

This is a baby weigela monet, bought this year. I’m rather pleased with it. I’m not cheating……

If you look closely, it has three flowers on! The geranium is Rozanne.

This is antirrhinum anthirodora looking lovely with nemesia golden eye which I hope is perennial, but it flowers continuously for ever so I have my doubts.

I think this is a brilliant snapdragon, it’s perennial (didn’t say short lived, so fingers crossed) and it has slightly variegated leaves. It’s called eternal, let’s hope eh:-)

Gaura Rosy Jane and dahlias (just bought as dark leaf)

Back to north border

Dicentra goldheart, which will soon go into hiding, in front of hydrangea quadricolour, which is in front of hydrangea vanille frais

I don’t like all these gaps, , but hopefully they won’t be there next year

This is clematis honora, bought this year for less than £2 from Morrisons!

a cheat, but more colourful than some flowers:-)

I’ve even got flowers in water now.

This is a lovely pink hydrangea on the left…

and close up.

This is little duckling, another Morrisons bargain.

I hope you weren’t too bored, I do have more pics of flowers including my brilliant cannas, but I thought any more would be pushing it…and I’ll never get this finished lol:-)

Far from bored BA, a very enjoyable look around your garden and all your lovely plants. I hate gaps too but it's amazing how quickly things fill them when you look back at old pics. I'm very envious of your Gaura - haven't been able to grow it successfully myself. :o(( Thanks for the tour :o))

That was as far as possible from boring :-)
Your garden is beautiful & the Lilium regale is gorgeous!

How could you ever think that we could be bored??I am amazed how full your garden is looking already, Ba, as it wasn't so long ago you had the 'make over' done~your garden is truly beautiful, and the photos do you credit my friend! Stunning....x

Lovely and very very colourful, I too thank goodness for Morrisons, they have lots of lovely cheap (even if small) clematis, bought one for £1.79 the other day, and this week bought a Lythrum supposedly shorter variety than the ones I have already, we will see, but only £2. so a bargain I thought, congratulations on the garden it is fabulous, keep up the good work, the gaps will soon be filled in.

Thanks Lily,I've been a bit tied up so am late replying to your kind comments. I thought gaura grew anywhere (this site teaches more than gardening books doesn't it) not long lasting perennial here though, but pretty:-)

6 Aug, 2010

Hi Columbine, thanks, I thought I'd bought the wrong bulbs 'til they actually flowered, I've never seen such tall regals:-)

6 Aug, 2010

hi Shirley, they do go well together, but I've made so many mistakes when planting and will have to move lots. Yes I am very pleased with the makeover:-)

6 Aug, 2010

Thanks Terra, I've got some aubrieta coming soon and hope for some flowers this spring, it's all your fault:-))

6 Aug, 2010

Sorry I'm so late getting back to you Stroller. The little tree is an acer, there are more pics of it in my early pics if you are interested. I don't know which it is as I bought two acers years ago which were in 'sick bay' at a local garden centre. Neither is bothered by sun, the other one is on this blog but is a close up. They both keep their colours all season, perhaps a little brighter in spring:-)

Hi Cristina, thanks and apologies again, do you bring your cannas indoors? I hope I don't lose mine, are they not as easy as I was hoping? :-)

6 Aug, 2010

Thanks Elsie, w. monet is a dwarf if my info is right and it seems to colour better as the season goes on:-)

6 Aug, 2010

Thanks Michaella, I'm glad you like it:-))

6 Aug, 2010

Hi Florie, a few days ago my son laughingly said " I thought you said it would be less work when it was done" How wrong could he be lol what I meant was there would be no lawn, not less plants, and a chance to start again;-))

6 Aug, 2010

Hi Oliveoil, thanks for your kind comments. Some people on here (no names mentioned) have made clematis objects of desire and I think I've had at least 6 from Morrisons. Honora is only a few months old and I'm amazed at how forward it is. I'm afraid I didn't follow the advice to cut it right down when planting, I just haven't the heart, but it is looking good. I'll be interested to see how your lythrum does. I got rid of mine as it had almost taken over the small pond area helped by carex pendula (never again) and a few other plants:-)

6 Aug, 2010

I'm saying nothing......lol! Tee hee hee!

6 Aug, 2010

Hello bornagain, you have a really nice garden there, plenty of colour and so much going on i love it. regards julien

8 Aug, 2010

Thank you for your very kind words Julien, all we need is a summer lol:-)

9 Aug, 2010

Flori, you have much to answer for, I've lost count, truly, of how many I've got now. i have started seeing shrubs as climbing frames!;-)

9 Aug, 2010

Hey, it isn't just me, Ba! Have you caught Karen's blog on her Clems~it is breathtaking! I have yet to find a home for 8 more Clems that are still in their original pots yet, and haven't got quite as far as going into my garden, lol! You have got to admit, they are really worth the effort though......and also great companion planting too! Tee hee hee! :~))x

9 Aug, 2010

It's all looking amazing - I wouldn't have guessed that it had had a make-over, if I hadn't known! :-)) I bet you're thrilled with it all....

9 Aug, 2010

Thanks Spritz, I do love it, but somehow I thought it would suddenly look 'finished' lol you know large shrubs, no gaps in plants etc and I can also see many silly planting mistakes. might do a blog on those and you can be sure there will be some 'questions' on Goy too:-)

10 Aug, 2010

We ALL make mistakes, Ba. At least you can rectify them...Yes, do a blog - that would be very interesting! You could always tuck in some pretty annuals if you don't like the gaps - there are some around at GCs.

10 Aug, 2010

I've got bedding such as impatiens and coleus but should have got some tall ones. It woild cost a fortune to fill all the gaps now, but I've got some new plants coming soon, 3 helenium sahins , Mortimer Sackler rose for arbour type thing on circle patio and others I've forgotten lol:-)

10 Aug, 2010

You'll soon have it full, by the sound of it. :-))

10 Aug, 2010

Maybe I'll get to Malvern this autumn and buy lots more, no more aquilegias though:-)

10 Aug, 2010

LOL. Not sure if we're going yet. We'll see.......

10 Aug, 2010

no wot u mean ba i have redun this year as well and despratly need it all to fill out. i just got loads of bizy lizes as they were going cheap.

13 Aug, 2010

Don't know about soon having it full - looks as if you'll be another one borrowing Spritz's 'magic' trowel to fit any more in!!! Looking lovely now and can only get better.

14 Aug, 2010

Thanks Cristina, they certainly come in handy:-)

14 Aug, 2010

Hi Wagger, thanks you are very kind, but I've cheated a bit. There are quite a few things in containers such as coleus and other bedding plants and even some perennials as it was to late to transplant them cos I could have broken off the flowers, but I just keep buying so I'm afraid I will soon need Spritz's shoehorn lol, wouldn't mind some sun either:-)

14 Aug, 2010

yep cud do wth sun here as well . i do that wth plants as well born .leave them in pots and put in borders

14 Aug, 2010

I do too - mostly lilies, and also my Coprosmas which have to live in the g'house in the winter.

14 Aug, 2010

I don't normally do that, but will from now (another little trick I learned on here) as there is always the odd gap somewhere:-) Do you remember Spritz that a neighbour of mine had planted some beautiful coprosma varieties in her front garden? I did tell her that they weren't entirely hardy....and they've all had it:-( They were so lovely, and the first I had seen, I won't be growing any, but what leaves!:-)

15 Aug, 2010

I love your garden Ba!! I want your pond :-)))

8 Sep, 2010

I bought a floating fountain for it with coloured lights, it broke, I bought a normal pump and fountain for it but can't find a way of putting it in the bottom (3ft deep) so that it's level. So I bought what i thought was a brass spitting frog, by now desperate in case my fish died. When it arrived it was a big verdigris coloured plastic frog with its mate on its back .....I give up. Wish I'd filled it in when I had the chance:-(

11 Sep, 2010

Oh Ba don't give up, it's so nice. Bet the plastic mating frog was attractive! Not...Lol

13 Sep, 2010

I may put a picture up lol, it's a whopper, no wonder it was so cheap. I would have sent the first floationg one back ( Bermuda Bellagio or something like that) as it broke within about 6 weeks, but makeover Trev very kindly said he'd look at it for me....took it apart...and lost one of the filters lol!! you've got to laugh:-)
