after reading your comments about being patient to take a pic of them, I thought you might like to see these..apologies to those of you have seen them before,as they were taken in..May 2010…It took OH over an hour, hiding under a tree !….the last two were taken after fledging..a very narrow escape !

Our local cat"Owler" so called ,as he hates being in at night…(night owl? ) lol..a lovable, but naughty rogue..!

26 Feb, 2012

Thanks Bloomer..Smashing photo's. That last picture is why I don't have feeders or Blue Tits ! Miss Marbles would think it was her birthday if I hung up a fat ball.

26 Feb, 2012

Aaww - they are so sweet - well worth the wait! Thanks to your OH. :))

26 Feb, 2012

Brilliant Bloomer & OH, I had young ones around last year, they seemed to like sitting on the whirlygig so I may leave it up again this year.

26 Feb, 2012

Fantastic photos, Bloomer...
well done to you and OH. :o)))

26 Feb, 2012

All credit to OH for having the patience to wait, mind you I know full well what our men are like when obtaining a new camera, mine takes all sorts of weird and wonderful shots to demonstrate how good it is, then we all have to admire and exclaim over all his pics ,lol.
They are lovely shots, we upset our bluetits when our old plum tree became dangerous and we had to remove it, I tried the same birdhouse in various trees and all over the bottom hedge but they never ever used that house again...

Lovely to see these pics again, Sandra ... I remember them the first time round ... and the patience of your OH ... beautiful pics ... :o)

I do remember these photos Sandra , they are stunning ! was Russell rewarded witha big slab of your delicious Choccy cake after his 'sit in' :o)

26 Feb, 2012

Brillant shots. Hope they have continued to use this lovely little house.

26 Feb, 2012

Really good pics Bloomer , he was very patient wasn't he ?

26 Feb, 2012

Thanks Pimms..the bird box had been up 4 years before they used it,and it hasn't been used since.!..The feeding station is further away from the fence than it looks,as OH was indoors, and zoomed in..we just heard an almighty scuffle, from the wild area behind, and there he was ..naughty Owler.. Luckily,he has no chance catching them on there, with all that din ! Lol.

Glad you liked them,Pixi..everything comes to those who wait,as they say..but thank goodness, not for Owler ! Lol.
He is the only cat who lives round here..the other one is the 'Black Panther ' ! goodness knows where he lives !.Lol.He sits at the bottom of a wall,in
our garden now ! cheeky B..after all he put us through :o)

Thanks Sheila..it was worth the wait..I almost took a chair out for him,and his tea :o)

Pleased you liked it,Sev..they love the 'Whirleygig'..good description..you should leave it up..they will reward you,I'm sure..:o)

Thanks Terra..he was so lucky to get these..he had to take them when he thought it was going to come out of the box, after feeding the young ones..once it was out,it was off ! you don't want to know how many he deleted first ! Lol.

Thank you,Linclass..that is sad,you had to take the tree down..they are so fickle ,aren't they ? We have an Alder tree,in front of the bird box,as that is on the wall..but when the leaves dropped off in autumn,we noticed a little nest in it,but don't know if it belonged to the bluetits or not,as we never noticed any birds using it at all...

Thanks Shirley..I remember you commenting last time round, but didn't think you would mind seeing them again..a lot more new members now,so a lot hadn't seen them..:o)

Thank you,Amy..and I never tire of looking at these lovely little birds..I don't recall him having Choccy cake, but He probably had a can of something cool ! it was a warm day..no problem..he had his head under the canopy of leaves :o)

Sadly,Willinilli..I mentioned on another comment, that they haven't used it since...maybe this year,we will be lucky..if not,I will have to rent it out ..Can't afford to have a house stood empty ,can I ? Lol.

Thanks Driad...he has to be patient,..he married me ! Lol...Live and learn ,eh? :o)

26 Feb, 2012

They are fantastic shots Bloomer I will have to be more patient:)

26 Feb, 2012

26 Feb, 2012

yes Bloomer - what I have in hanging basket - gorgeous

26 Feb, 2012

Lovely pictures Bloomer's OH and thank you for sharing them with us Bloomer. Just gorgeous.
Last year I had a little family living in a hole next to the boiler flue - and guess who just remembered about it...doh! and I have just remembered where I put the little bird house I was going to mount up there on the wall. Will need to wait now before I do anything!!

26 Feb, 2012

Lol cats eh? Suki sits on the fence near the house watching them or under the birdtable but I shout at her! lol :)

26 Feb, 2012

Sorry San..missed you out there..we did clean it out, after they had long gone,,but wondered if that was the right thing to do..maybe they prefer to live in a 'muck hole'.Lol.

Just watch it,Paul..our wall is about 8 feet high ! Hope your hanging basket doesn't get like that. :o

Thank you,Scottish..good job I posted this then, just to remind you ! Lol....at least you found your bird house.:o)

Just nature though,Pixi..but it's upsetting if they get one..aw,poor Suki..I bet she thinks.."what's up with her ? I'm only sitting minding my own business ..get a grip,woman"Lol..:o))

26 Feb, 2012

lol Yes! ;)

27 Feb, 2012

Beautiful!

28 Feb, 2012

Thanks Gattina..I hope they decide to nest again this year ....

28 Feb, 2012

Lovely pics Sandra, it just goes to show that patience is rewarded. I do hope Owler's patience wasn't rewarded though! It also helps to have clean windows! LOL

28 Feb, 2012

Thanks Lily..I don't know what Owler gets up to,and don't really want to ..I have never seen him with anything,so maybe he is a vegetarian ! Lol...That is another job my OH has taken off my hands, since he retired....cleaning the windows ! ..actually,I quite enjoy doing them on a nice warm day..a good calorie burner :o))

28 Feb, 2012

Nobody cleans windows regularly here Sandra because OH is too stingy to pay a window cleaner. When he retired 2 years ago he said he'd do it and I'm still waiting! It's not my favourite job but I wouldn't mind it so much if I could actually get a result that still looks OK when the sun shines on them. All that effort and still smeary. :o(((

29 Feb, 2012

Lily..you need one of those Microfibre glass cloths..no smears with one of those..I paid £5 for mine, almost 10 years ago,and still use it..there are lots of cheap versions around..but this has been worth every penny..you can even use it in sunshine, and it still doesn't smear..I wish I could remember the make,,but the Company that makes them,do a lot of ranges for all uses..more likely to get one at a decent shop..if my windows are really dirty, they get a good wash first, and most of it taken off with a squeegy type window scraper..then just dry it off with the cloth.,like a wash leather, only much better.!.for inside,I just spray with water, and dry them off...so quick and easy..

29 Feb, 2012

I do use a squeegy blade Sandra but our windows are large and my wrists are dodgy so I'm not too good at manipulating it and get drips and "runs". I usually use kitchen roll to dry off round the edges. Maybe I'll invest in a decent microfibre cloth as the one I have isn't very good.....unless it's just me! LOL. I'd much rather be gardening really!!

29 Feb, 2012

that will be difficult for you,Lily....I can see your dilemma..just remembered the name ..they are called E cloths..you will have to buy your OH one for his birthday ! Lol...

1 Mar, 2012

As far as I know, windowcleaners don't exist out here - windows open inwards (so no windowsills to start seeds off on) so you can do both sides of the glass yourself. Not my favourite job! I use warm water with vinegar-based washing up liquid to get the really bad marks off (mostly pussycat paw-prints) and then dry with scrunched up newspaper. Seems to work quite well.

1 Mar, 2012

We had those windows upstairs at our last house..I remember using newspaper a long time ago..and the black hands ! I used it mainly on mirrors..I use washing up liquid too,as I don't buy products designed for washing glass...a marketing ploy to make you think they are better..and I didn't rate it much, when I tried some once..

1 Mar, 2012

I'm terribly cynical when it comes to adverts of ANY sort.

1 Mar, 2012

Me too,Gattina...most of the tried and tested old ways are better. I'm all for one,and one for all, like the 3 musketeers !Lol.

1 Mar, 2012

I tend to be swayed AGAINST products whose advertisements are very loud, insult my intelligence, are condescending, needlessly erotic, contain bad English or airbrushed nymphettes, smouldering baby-oiled hunks, or are blatantly nothing to do with the product itself. I don't care for "celebrity" endorsements, either (don't recognise 90% of them anyway, these days), although I have a soft spot for Gary Lineker. Wouldn't make me buy the crisps, though. I appreciate humour and wit, brevity and technical genius, but there's really nothing that would make me throw down the remote control and dash out to buy something. I use commercial breaks to do useful things like putting the kettle on, bring the washing in, go to the loo, let the cats in, make appointments and shopping lists or unload the dishwasher. I am a marketer's worst nightmare.

What a capture B. (OH!) simply brill photos.

1 Mar, 2012

Thank you,G.mage..from both of us :o)..glad you enjoyed it too ...

1 Mar, 2012

Listen to you two..grumbling about adverts. Reminded me of Les Dawson & Roy Whatsisname!

Prepare to be astounded Bloomer!!! you have inspired me. No Tit's but a lovely Robin redbreast for ya.

1 Mar, 2012

Lol,Pimms..Roy who? ...Rogers..Hattersley...Cropper ? ha ha..I know who you mean..erm,thingy..can't just remember..Ok will take a look..and I am all prepared to be astounded ! ......and I was..Wow :o)

Fantastic Blue tit pictures. x

18 Apr, 2012

Thank you,Jem..We thought they were going to use the birdhouse again this year..lots of activity going on a few weeks ago,but nothing now..shame about that ...

18 Apr, 2012

Love having birds in the garden. We do at the moment have a pair of Blue tits that visit although our box is too low for them to use and it's right next to Joshua's playhouse....Also the cat uses it as a stepping stone to get over the fence.
