This was one of the creations by a famous Artist..Cesar Manrique..of his home and subterranean grotto, in the north of the Island..all carved out of the lava and rocks of a Volcano..There are many pieces of his amazing work, all over the island..and especially on roundabouts,to be seen by everyone..
This metal sculpture of a Scorpion,is one of the better known,at the entrance to this wonderful place..Sadly,this talented man, died in a tragic car accident, aged 72,in 1993..by going through a red light,on the Island….but what a legacy he left behind…

Making our way down to the cave, and the lagoon. This is home to tiny blind white crabs, unique to the island, and as yet,it hasn’t been established why and how they are only found here..These are showing as white dots on the pic,and that was in close up..such tiny creatures..

Loved this Lava formation..

The next place,is the huge concert hall, capable of holding up to 800 people..

The roof of the concert hall..

On our way to his outdoor garden and pool..and all the wonderful plants..

Back outside, and time to go to the next creation of this talented man..but at the top of a mountain ,on the next blog..

Hope you have enjoyed this visit. We loved it,and would love to go again sometime…

Lovely blog Bloomer. I love the Canary Islands. We went to Puertoventura (?) last year and visited Lanzarote for the day. We quite fancy going to Lanzarote for a main holiday some time in the future.

What a lovely trip , Bloomer , never found this place and we've been a couple of times . We are going to Fuertaventura at the end of the month , and it can be rather windy , as the name implies , but looking forward to a little change .
