This is the first proper garden blog I have done in 2013 but after a lovely hot summer Autumn is here and the lawns finally look green enough to show again.

Lets start with the front garden. Acer, Alstroemeria ‘Purple Rain’ & Fuchsia ‘Tom West’

Sedum cuttings doing well

A few of the pots and flowers

This border has been tidied up and some grasses added

Moving round to the front garage border. This is the only part of my garden to get full sun and I’m really glad I took out the laurels last year as this has been a joy to plant

Joey my neighbours cat hiding in the penstemon

Now through the gate to the side garden. No change here just lots of evergreens so it looks pretty much the same all year round

The view from the seat corner

A pretty gift donated by the birds at the top of the slope

Fern pots in the corner by the side gate

A passing balloon. They fly over regularly and I would love to have a go

Lets go down the steps to the bottom garden. This area at the top of the steps has been replanted as an old Ceanothus had to be removed

Hydrangea, Sedum & fern on the opposite more shaded side

Just waiting for the Parthenocissus to change colour around the mirror

The bottom garden looking better now the grass has been reseeded

The side garden taken from the right hand steps

I’m hoping to move some things around in the mirror corner this weekend so fingers crossed the weather stays mild and dry

And finally back up the steps to the patio

Last weekend’s warm weather even bought out a little bee

Bless him!!

I hope you enjoyed the little tour :o)))

Thanks Val, I had to scarify the bottom lawn then re-seed as it was so bad. I fed it with aftercut quite late too but it really needed doing. Now it could do with some more rain, everything is very dry here again. I have decided to do my seed next year now as I have left it so late, I hope some of yours show soon :o)
