The kind of gifts we all find very welcome ..

Our lovely grandchildren gave us gardening vouchers knowing we wanted to buy more trees etc. after leaving so many favourites behind in our previous garden .
we’re being very well behaved and trying not to buy on impulse as this time our space is at a premium .

Off we went on Saturday back to a good nursery we have found we bought 3 trees from them recently , I had already decided which shrub I wanted to buy it was a personal favourite ,The Cornus kousa I loved the one I had to leave behind ,I hope this new one ‘C. Schmetterling ’ grows as well … we were in luck they had a new delivery not yet unpacked we had first choice..
we still have money left over on the vouchers I’m not rushing we can take our time deciding on our next purchase

Other plants doing well so far this winter Echium pininana

Cyclamen Snowridge

I put a photo of this on here when it came into flower in October this is it today still blooming after 3 months ..

I was also pleased to find this pretty Primrose

Hubby has been busy planting up a Strawberry bed with Elsanta plants ,fingers crossed for some lovely juicy strawberries ..

Melianthus major still sending out new foliage I have a couple of stakes with fleece in front of it for protection
Thank you for looking

A lovely looking Cornus Amy. The first one I grew was a standard (grafted) of C. Kousa ‘Miss Satomi’. I’ve never seen such a lovely cornus plant since. I tried to move it with me to our last house, but it died. Since moving here I have done a bit of research and discovered that C.Florida is the most wind tolerant of the flowering Dogwoods, so a couple of years ago I planted one of those. Im hoping it might flower this year, its done very well so far, and had stunning autumn colours. I hope yours will thrive!

I love getting garden vouchers, then I can take myself off to my favourite GC to choose what I want. Your developing garden will not only bring pleasure to you, but will also have memories built in.

Oh Yes !!! ... I love my garden voucher presents, I save them in the hopes they get added to for Mother's Day, also try and use them on what I consider to be a costly shrub, that way I don't feel guilty at spending a bit extra on my choice..Your garden will have reached the pleasurable stage this year Amy so enjoy....
