Witch Hazel Alice? and winter flowering honeysuckle? Don't know if it was winter ones you were after? I love Prostanthera...New Zealand Mint Bush. It has wonderfully aromatic evergreen leaves and pure white flowers in summer. In the summer my favourites are roses, honeysuckle, night scented stock (memories of childhood) and all the herbs, thymes, marjoram and best of all, mint!

This was in July. The plant/shrub/tree is now about 8 feet tall and in spite of this hard winter, it still has many leaves on. It isn't fully hardy, but if you plant it in a sunny spot I think you'll be pleased! The leaves are a beautiful silver colour.

A lovely idea Aa. It will be very useful too, as many plants don't seem to have fragrance at all. One of my favourite scented roses is Fragrant Cloud which I could stick to my nose for hours!

My standard rose called peace on my home page smells beautiful when in bloom.

Crimson Glory...you can smell it before you get up to it!

How about Phuopsis stylosa ? Some say it smells foxy, but to me it's a very 'earthy' smell. If I had to choose just one rose (ok, it's impossible, I know) it would be Rose de Rescht.
