Aqua globes

I admit I had never before bought anything that I had seen on an info-mercial – is this snobby? I just don’t usually trust that want I’m seeing is what I will get, I like to see and touch things before buying…but anyway, there was no other way for me to water my plants over the break when I went to El Salvador. Larry was looking after them, but figuring he wouldn’t be able to come every day, I wanted to let them get some water in a way that was more consistent.

There is no access to running water or electricity outside on the third floor balcony, however, so an irrigation system was out.

Hence the aqua globes. Made of glass, you fill them up and put them in at an angle in the pot you want to water. The plant absorbs the water as needed.

I admit I was skeptical, but didn’t really have that many options, so I bit the bullet and bought six.

I have to say, I think they worked quite well. Not a plant died. Larry said it was easier to water, as he only had to fill the globes up.

Mmmm…so maybe info-mercials aren’t all lies?? ! =)

Here is a plant with the aqua globe:

I too can recommend them. I got hold of some last year and they do work a treat. I have recently seen them being advertised by Richard Jackson on tv shopping channel as well.
