I started gardening 17 or 18 years ago, always at the same place. My biggest garden influence is the garden Harland Hand made for himself in El Cerrito, California. http://www.harlandhandgarden.com/ My gardening goals are to: enhance habitat for local winged life; keep the making of the garden an ongoing creative endeavor for myself; grow all the extremely cool plants I want to; and, do all this with as little water as possible in drought prone California. My wife is an artist working with woven images. I've been teaching mathematics for just slightly longer than I've been gardening. We currently have two dogs that share the job of being my personal trainer. Sophie at 13.5 years of age is the boss and a Golden Retriever/ Lab cross. Fletcher is an Australian Shepard, 8 years ol age. We like hiking and canoeing.
