Here you are Maple , just for you .(I didnt use quite as much syrup as the recipie says)

PLUM CRUMBLE

8 RIPE PLUMS
4 TABLESPOONS MAPLE SYRUP
50G / 2 oz ROLLED OATS
50G / 2 oz PLAIN FLOUR
25G / 1 oz CASTOR SUGAR ( GOLDEN IS BEST )
1/2 TEASPOON OF CINNAMON
50G / 2 oz BUTTER
25G / 1 oz FLAKED ALMONDS

HALVE THE PLUMS AND REMOVE THE STONES ,( CUT LENGTH WAYS AND TWIST )
PUT THEM IN A TIGHT LAYER , SKIN SIDE DOWN OVER THE BASE OF AN OVENPROOF DISH
POUR OVER 2 SPOONFULLS OF SYRUP AND POP IN THE OVEN 200F FOR 10 MINS SO THAT THEY ARE JUST TURNING GOLDEN BUT ARE STILL FIRM TO TOUCH
WHILE THEY ARE ROASTING MAKE THE CRUMBLE , PUT THE FLOUR ,OATS , SUGAR AND CINNAMON IN A BOWL AND MIX TOGETHER CUT THE BUTTER INTO SMALL BITS AND ADD TO THE BOWL , MIX UNTIL THE MIXTURE IS CRUMBLY , ADD THE ALMONDS AND MIX IN .
SCATTER OVER THE PLUMS , DRIZZLE THE LAST 2 SPOONS OF SYRUP OVER THE CRUMBLE ,PUT BACK IN THE OVEN FOR A FURTHER 15 MINS UNTIL THE CRUMBLE IS GOLDEN AND THE PLUMS ARE BUBBLING ..
SERVE WITH LASHINGS OF DOUBLE CREAM OR ICE CREAM .

Weemama thanks very much for that. We get a plentiful supply of plums off of neighbours so now I know just what to do with them. Never thought about using oats or maple syrup in crumble but once I've made it I'll let you know how it goes
