Happy New Year!

Hello everyone, and a very Happy New Year to you all.

As some of you may remember, I back in October I asked for help and ideas after being nominated to produce the flowers at my son’s wedding. (thanks again to all those of you who replied) which took place yesterday, New Year’s Eve. Well, despite my better judgement I went ahead and made button holes for the men, flower baskets for three little girls (my granddaughter included) and the bride’s posie. Thankfully, mixing silk flowers with natural greenery turned out to be a good combination (phew) but considering the fact I was actually shaking while I assembled them, I think it will be a longtime before I take on a challenge like that again.

Typically, the rain poured yesterday, so no photo’s outside, but that didn’t damped anyone’s spirits and the whole day went really well.
Today, the sun actually broke through, so I was able to keep one of my New Year Resolutions, that of keeping a photographic record of the garden, taken on the 1st of each month. As I walked around the admittedly soggy garden it was up lifting to see that spring is already trying to show herself, even if we are still officially in Winter.

The Camellia has lots of buds promising a good display in Spring.

The Rosemary in a pot by the door is thriving. I snipped some for the Posie.

Spring bulbs in pots already showing the first green tips.

But would you believe it? …the slugs/snails are still chomping away!

Bless your heart Waddy, I know all about the shaking nerve syndrome, take me out of my comfort zone and the same thing happens to me, the silliest of things affects me always has done.
You have earned yourself a golden star, we can see by your photo`s how lovely a job you made of them and the bride and groom look a very happy couple, I`m pleased all went well despite the weather.
It was nice here today as well although our chappie on the local radio keeps warning us it won`t last, lol.
Lovely to see your photo`s Waddy, Happy new Year to You.xx

Well done Waddy - I'm sure the only one nervous was you!
They were lovely and as Lincslass has said the happy couple look very relaxed. I'm pleased you all had a good time.
Great idea to record everything on a specific date - will help in years to come I'm sure.
Lots going on there. It was beautiful here today (a change from last year), I actually took sometime to tidy up a couple of borders.
Happy New Year x

The flowers look simply beautiful - I don't think you had any reason to be at all nervous, but I can understand it. Your son and daughter-in-law look very relaxed and happy. Congratulations to all of you!

What a super lot you all are, thank you so much for all your kind comments...and best wishes to the 'Happy Couple' I will pass them all on.

Thanks Lincslass, I shall wear it with pride! I take no notice of the weather forecasters, (I'm sure they keep shifting the Pennines) apart from Country File, other than that I just look out of the window lol!

Scottish, I wish that were true, but the groom was probably worse than me! The pair of them were very relieved I think when it was all over lol.

Wildrose, It's been a very busy time all round! time to sit back a bit now and take stock.

Hywell, I pass on the good wishes. It's so nice to see signs of spring even this early in the year isn't it?

Thanks Stoller...I'll pass it on :) Yours too Sunburngirl

Bloomer, It was all great. Freya looked wonderful (more pics to come when developed) I think my outfit looked great (lost a bit more weight) and the shoes were really comfortable, surprisingly.

Pansypotter, That's kind of you thank you. Happy new Year to you too.

Gattina, Thank you, you're congrats will be passed on.
