Sparklydog's Profile

I have a seaside garden in the sheltered south west of Cornwall. It is on a rocky hillside - the soil is known as shillet, or shale. I have a mixture of plantings - quite a lot of tender exotic stuff, and mediterranean plants as it is very dry. I like a cottagy effect, and wildlife ( I have a small wildlife pond which is very active with frogs etc). Propagation is my joy, and reading gardening books (which I have masses of!). Have just written a booklet on gardening on shale which I am going to try and have published somehow. There wasn't one in existence so I thought I would have a go. I bought a greenhouse last year and grew tomatoes for the first time, which were fab.
