About me

Hi, I live in Evesham with my husband, our 2 dogs and 1 cat. We have a 60ft narrowboat called Angharad. We both work together as lock keepers at Evesham lock on the River Avon. When we took the job as resident lock keepers 6 years ago a house came with the job. Some of you may know the A framed house which sits up on stilts across the water, sitting on 2 islands. We also have a 3rd much larger island where the wild life make their home. It really is a beautiful place to live. We try to keep the island as natural as possible for the wildlife as they use it for a breading. In the spring it is alive with youngsters, Ducklins, goslings, moorhens, cygnets we even have hedghogs,phesants and so the list goes on. Each day brings somthing new. I put up plenty of nest boxs for our smaller birds although we do have some woodpeckers who seem determing to get into the bluetits boxes to lay eggs.
Back in July 2007 we suffered badly with the floods and had just over 18.5' of flood water here and the house too had 4.5ft of flood water in the house. The beautiful A frame house is now waiting to come down and we will thn have another new house to take its place.
