We had a lovely day out today at Harlow Carr, and even though it was chilly the sun shone all day :-), took a few pictures of the beautiful gardens to share with you all, hope you enjoy :-)

Quite embarassing I had one flower on my pagoda lilies this year!!!!!!!, these were amazing :-)

Insect house

Just for you Meanie :-)

Alpine House

And of course I couldn’t go to a plant fair and not buy any plants could I :-), I bought Hosta ‘Undulata’, Astrantia ‘Gill Richardson, Doedecatheon ’Jeffreyi’ and Astilboides ‘Tiabularis’ ,not heard of this before but one of those large perennials I love :-) , apparently related to the astilbe but totally different leaf.
Hope you enjoyed my day out :-),to finish it off we called at a pub for our dinner, being spoiled a bit lately, I’m not complaining:-), next week we’re going to Malvern for the weekend for the flower show :-)

Fabulous day out! What a lovely garden. I love that purple and white pot. Grand to see all those tulips - they are quite finished round here.
Don't be sad you only had one pagoda lily - that's one more than I had.

Superb and very professional pictures. Takes me back to our visit some years ago when I was hoping to bump into the late Geoffrey Smith who wasn't only a fantastic gardener but a past superintendent of the gardens and was a regular visitor at that time. Well done!

Glad you all enjoyed my day out too :-))
We went last autumn Sticki and the wigwams and tree house weren't there then, in fact they'd done so much since our last visit, the children were all enjoying the tree house :-)
The tulips were amazing Cinders there were so many wonderfull displays and pots :-)
Thats made me feel better Steragram :-) my pagoda lilies did start off with a few flower heads but something bit all the heads off !!!!!, grrr.
Thanks Jimmy glad you enjoyed the pictures and they brought back some happy memories for you, the gardens are so well looked after aren't, they must have a small army of gardeners but you hardly see any around ?
Thanks TT :-)
Sorry SBG :-) it was a lovely day and made all the better by the dry weather, was really busy, we arrived around 11.30 and the plant stalls had nearly been picked over even then!!!!, still there is the lovely nursery as well, no chance of getting in Betty's Tea rooms, well you'd have a long wait, queing out the door for seats there :-)
