After all the rain lately, the front garden, which faces north, is absolutely crammed with plants

This tete-a-tete is still flowering …

… as is this tulip

Viola, hebe and spindle

Viola and heuchera

Yet more lilies of the valley

Welsh poppes – they’re all over the place!

Dicentra (sorry some of these are a little blurred)

Bearded irises – buds just about ready

Foxglove – this one’s a big ‘un – about 5’ tall!

Little red robin (and another poppy)

Heuchera, enjoying the evening sunshine

The first flower on this little dianthus – it’s been in a chimney pot facing north for two winters now

Thanks for viewing

Sheila

You've got lots in your front garden. I've tried to grow welsh poppies for years, but can't grow them ....
Well this year they've self seeded themselves from the hedgerow out the back :o)

Hywel - the welsh poppies grow here no bother. If you'd like some seeds, I can send you some.
Motinot - the foxgloves are freebies from the birds. There's about eight currently in the front garden and I dug up and gave my friend five (she was going to pay £5 each for them!!!) The poppies can be invasive can't they?
Thanks Pixi

You are so lucky to have all those lily-of-the-valley I think they are one of my favourites.

Thank you Sheila but I just can't get them to grow whenever I've sewed them. They seem to have done it themselves this year lol

Plenty of late spring colour there,Sheilar..all my Welsh poppies are out too..and love the way they seed themselves....and Hywel, now they have seeded ,you should get plenty more..they seem to do better when left to do their own thing...you might be inundated next year ! Lol...I used to try and transplant the seedlings, without much luck...

You can't have too many welsh poppies sheila, if they were rare, we'd pay a fortune for something of such delicate beauty which flowers for so long :-) It's lovely isn't it when everything is ready to burst into bloom. Oh Bloomer, you can transplant if you keep them on the wet side for a bit and they're not too big:-)

Plenty of colour there Sheila, I like to see a busy border and something that self seeds is very welcome here in my garden, if they come up in the wrong place I just move them, lol...

Steragram - the foxglove IS a bit early this year
Wildrose - I think lilies of the valley are like Marmite - you either love them or hate them (I love them)
Mavis - yes I've found those welsh poppies starting to grow in gravel, in grass, in a bit of space in crammed pots ... etc.
When there are too many, I start pulling them out too Lincslass but I do like my borders crammed (less space for weeds lol)
