Apologies for posting an id question here on a blog. Paul has kindy agreed to try identify my fern for me :)

So am I right in saying if it is Dryopteris erthrosora – I should be starting to change colour? It does get a lot of sun but my soil is moist and never dries out.

Of course – if anyone else can help – please join in :))))

Sorry I don't know it's name, but it's very nice. I haven't got any ferns. Maybe I should buy one or two. I always think they've got such a dainty look about them :o)

They're beautiful -first looks like Dryopteris erthrosora for sure!!! Not dead sure on second one - third looks like polystichum polyblepharum for its darker glossy fronds - I love ferns :)))))))))))))

So its an evergreen fern Scottish? I have the same fern (it is just one fern to ID ) ill look for the label..

Found the labels, would you believe it, i bought a pack of 3 from B&Q and all it said was. *Ferns* Some help i was :)

Hywel...you just have to get a fern or 2 - think how happy that would make Paul :)) They are quite cheap in B&Q most of the time (unless you want a certain specific one)

Paul....it is all the same plant :) now you see why I am confussed!! I'll just have to wait and see if it changes colour again:)

in that case I'd say polystichum polyblepharum the last one is definitely it - glossy and deep coloured - check it to mine on pics - looks so much alike :)))))))))

just google imaged Paul - it certainly looks like some of the images. Thanks for your help. I will keep a close eye if anything changes :)
