I had a stressfull weekend!

What a weekend. I guess after several very busy weeks at work. Wedding breakfasts and finger buffets day after day, every one eventually has a bad day. mine arrived friday……….
We had all moved round so james did sweets, the new boy Ben did starters and I did the main course. Which was fine, except that the two of them ended up doing the sweets and I got no help with the mains and the extras got left!
Only one fryer out of three was working. the slicer fell apart as I used it. I miss read the function sheet and only did 5 instead of 9 childrens food and the baked beans must still be on the lorry now!
Needless to say tempers got frayed. I did an impression of ‘Gorden’ with only the morgage keeping me there………

Eventually got home at 10pm, put the cooker on to make some supper and disappeared into the front room to and put the t.v. on. the sound of fat spitting reminded me and rushed to the kitchen to find the stove on fire! A plastic bottle of oil on the back had melted and eventually caught fire. luckily for me my ex. had left a fire extinguisher around so I got it out quickly. though not before smoke had colored the wall and extractor.
Two hours it took me to move out the oven saturday and clean all.
I’m out to get new fire alarm batteries and a replacement fire extinguisher today.

I got a surprisingly good reception, Saturday. Everyone kept asking If I was alright and James has even asked it I need a hand.
3 people working for 2 1/2 hour each did the finger buffet for the evening, yet he doesn’t allocate any time for this. I normally do it while doing the sweets, but I was doing the mains and no one else attempted it!

Felt better by last night. We worked together better so much so I had two hours spare. Went into the works garden and combined the two compost bins into one. Tony put his head over the fence and said ‘Sue, you working up a sweat in there’
‘Off course’ was my reply

P.s.
bought a book, .Carol Klein, how to propagate all your own plants, where she says about ‘the joy of the seeds germinating’, and you think – yes Ok bit obsessive this!
yet this morning after buying the seeds for Echium Pink fountain and everyone saying how difficult they are to grow. I’ve got two little green specks, and the world seems all right again!

I'm glad your little seedlings brought some joy into your life, especially after a stressful time :o) Growing plants is exciting.

thank you all!
But isn't that what life is all about.

I took 2 x 8 year old's to play mini golf today, both where very touchy, especially when all the ice cream parlors closed before we got into them. Then we unsuspectingly met up with my elder son plus 4 of his 20 year old friends playing Frisbee's in a flower garden on the front (using the flower arches as goal posts!) sure the council would love that........
and they couldn't have been happier!
