Can any one tell me what the grub is that the starlings are pecking up out of my lawn.

Possible leather jackets or vine weeval. Are they brown or white?

Think more likely to be leatherjackets in lawns.These turn into crane flies (daddy long legs) so if you see some dancing over your lawn soon you ll know what they were.

They are what the badgers dig up in our lawn! What a mess they make...

yes its the larvae of the cranefly (daddy long legs). let them feast or your grass will be eaten away
