My early potatoes have now got the blight! Will it hurt the potatoes to leave them in the ground until we need them?

My early potatoes have now got the blight! Will it hurt the potatoes to leave them in the ground until we need them?

If this is blight remove all the foliage and bin or burn, do not compost or put in your recycling bin. Leave the potatoes for a week plus and then you can start to harvest them, you are leaving them in case the blight is already in the tubers. If you have 2nd early potatoes or main crop watch like a hawk - this year there is going to be a lot of blight.
