When is the latest I can sow summer bedding plants?

United Kingdom

I would like to sow some more marigolds for my summer bedding. Is it too late now? What if i sow them outside in a flowering position? Is it still too late?

I read that Marigold's (French) take around 8-10 weeks to flower from sowing so you're looking around the end of July for a display.
