I have been given a 3 tier plant stand, what plants are best

Why not grow some out door hanging tomato plants or strawberries. :-)

i have one as well and i have a tumbler tomato in the top 1, a few little gem lettuce in the second and a couple of nasturnums seem to have also found there way there and the third tier i have a couple of marigolds and some lobelia , i too only have a small front area and a back yard where i try my best to rotate things

We use ours for our primulas one they have flowered or are past going to a show so that we can still enjoy looking at them and they get some air before going back into the alpine house for winter

Just to confuse you, I've just bought one of these for my front door. I've got some trailing begonia's growing on at the moment and also some geraniums which will sit up at each level.
If you're doing the same, you could plant some lavender or mint, so when peeps walk past, they'll brush the herbs and the smell will be noticeable.
