I don't know the first one but the second one looks like a Foxglove.

The second one is definitely Digitalis (Foxglove). It can grow between 2'6" and 5'.

Number two definitely a foxglove. The first one looks really familiar, I just can't put a name to it. It couldn't possibly be a gooseberry, could it? (very long shot, that)

Think the first pic is a Mallow D, agree with others on second pic being Foxglove

I thought of mallow, Dido, (honest) but the ones that pop up in my garden have much less palmate leaves.

Know what you mean Gattina, it's a toughie isn't it...

Well you cracked it.......

there are several mallow species and i think no 1 is a mallow and 2 is a foxglove.

Yep, just what I was going to say. though I can see what made you think of a rather lush gooseberry Gattina - difficult to judge the size from a photo.

Lol thank you all for your comments :0) now to try and find out what type of mallow it is.. glad about the foxglove ID.. quite nice i think :0)) Thanks again all.

I've been wracking my brains to get a name for your first plant because I have something similar in the garden. I think it is Sidalcea. You get a base of leaves and the flowers grow up long stems above the basal clump. It is a perennial mallow.
