I have a plain wall facing the front garden both ends have climbing rosses but the middle is bear I was thinking of getting a chaenomeles superba "Nicoline" but my friend told me I could have a cutting off her mums is this possible and how would I go about it. Sorry I dont seem to have a photo of it at this moment in time

You can take semmi ripe cuttings in the summer, the only thing is you will have to wait a long time for your show. If you can afford to buy a climber you are two or three years ahead. As far as what climber, it does depend on what amount of space you have.
