Regrowth on my orchid,
A few months ago the flowers fell off this orchid, I think it was too warm for it; now new leaves are growing but they are along the stem ~ about 15" up from the base of the stem. Is this normal? Do I let them continue to grow?
On plant
phalanopsis?

It's a keiki. Mist the arial roots when they form and then cut off carefully, with sterilized tools and pot up.

Thank you meanie, I shall keep looking out for the roots, I think it has four keikis!

Crikey Bloomer! There must have been a hundred comments on that!
Stickis fault though as she's always wandering off topic!!!!
The basics apply though, with the most important (in my opinion) being the holes in the side of the pots to ensure good air circulation.

Lol.Meanie..OK,we will blame Sticki..but must admit,I am guilty of going off topic too..as lots are.:o) It made me smile anyway..and agree about the correct pots..I just repotted mine yesterday, but still in the same size pots( with air holes) ! :o)

I found a Thai Green Curry in the freezer!
Could be a year before it's ready to sever Sticki.

have you grown any chillies? scotch bonnet? jalapeno? or hotter?

Just got some Naga chilli seeds from my neighbour. I have an unknown type of chilli growing (40 plants actually) from seeds that I collected from a few fruits that I was given last year - they're nice and hot.

It's a fun program! He gives the challenges a damn good shot most of the time!

Nearly made me feel ill! I didn't want or need to be awake that early but something is a bit wrong with my bread maker and it woke me up clunking and banging!
Are all the challenges as difficult as this one?

They vary between heat and quantity. Heat I can do, but not to his level. Quantity is the one that beats him most though. I do find him to be quite affable as a presenter.

I shall have to dip into that onto find out more! I don't like it too hot! Chillies bite!
