As Drc says there is no goodness left in it so I always use new.
Even in pots that have small shrubs or roses in I take out about two to three inches of the existing compost and replace with new compost and a feed.

I dont as they is no goodness left in it. I throw mine on the garden and use new compost in both winter and summer baskets
