Propagating Choisya and Photinia

Asked by Mcatama on 21 Apr, 2008

Has anyone sucessfully raised cuttings from Choisya and/or Photinia? I've tried and they never seem to take. What is the best type of cuttings to take and what is the best time of year to do it. And any other hints and tips for success?
Thanks,
Alison

Hi I've done Choisya - make sure they are in a gritty compost and any time they seem to take - dont make them too big though.

I usually use aerial or simply layering to do these sorts of shrubs (not tried with these two tho).
