I would like to train my solanumto climb into an oak tree it would have an eastern exposure.I live in s.w. fla. & have been unable to find the exact species name but it has small blue flowers w/yellow stamens canyou give any advice?

Solanum seaforthianum, maybe? If that, or a species like it, you will probably need to hang strings from some of the middle branches, and tie the stems to those until there is enough of the top of the vine draped over the branches to hold itself up. By the time the strings rot away, it should have a good foothold in the tree, and the basal growth can climb up the stems that have already made the journey.
