Straggly Camellia

My Camellia is beginning to get rather straggly, having arching branches, so that a lot of the buds are only a couple of inches from the soil. Can I prune itback, and if so, how far and when please...

Camellias respond well to hard pruning so you can be as vicious with it as you like. Pruning should be done immediately after flowering and a feed at the same time would help as well

Thankyou Andrew, I knew you would come to my rescue, I thought it would be after flowering, but Im pleased that I can cut it back quite a bit to get rid of the straggly look, Thanks again Andrew.........
