It was a fine day yesterday but it is wild this morning. Wet and very windy. However, I understand that worse is to come this afternoon with flood warnings in force!

I think we're about to get the 'tail end' of the low pressure that you're experiencing in Britain. According to our forecast, temperatures are set to drop alarmingly with heavy cloud and rain for several days. Shame - had a lovely barbecue with the Spanish family across the way yesterday - in fact had to move out of the sunshine and into the shade for a while! I know Summer can't last forever, but we've had such a gorgeous Summer (sorry Britain!) that we're all still in Summer mode and get caught out as the evenings bring a chill. :o(

We had a gorgeous weekend here in Edinburgh but today has been a complete wash out!! Wind has started picking up too!

As the day has gone on here, it has just got worse and worse. High winds now and sleet on the windscreen driving home about an hour ago. Hard to believe after yesterday.

Incredibly cold here last night - car windows needed defrosting when I finished work this morning brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I came back to the UK last Saturday for a few days, leaving warm sunshine behind (OH says it's been around 25° most days here) and finding cold winds and grey skies and rain instead. Then yesterday, as I was on the way to the airport, the dawn broke on a lovely clear Manchester day, and I spent the rest of my day in various airports gazing out at glorious, inaccessible UK sunshine. I arrived back in Bologna to find torrential rain, thick mist and freezing temperatures that are forecast to be with us for at least the next 2 weeks. Bummer! I think I shall spend today rounding up the garden furniture and putting all the cushions away in the loft - shan't be needing them again this year, and I'd only just finished making a new set of covers for them all, too!

Well Gattina....you didn't take all the cold weather with you, it's very cold and windy here today - it is wholly unacceptable that it didn't all follow you....lol!!
It's a real bummer having to 'shut' everything away for winter...whilst chairs etc are still out there is always hope :)
