As a curiosity?
You will need a hot dry sunny place with well drained light soil somewhere closer to the equator than is the UK. Perhaps a spot in a greenhouse border would enable germination - remove the nut from the husk and plant the nut a couple of inches deep. Do not overwater, - in Africa, like sweetpotatoes, they are usually grown on ridges and develope as a bunch below ground.
If you are really keen why not try to pre germinate one or two nuts - just for fun. Good luck.
