Clematis 'Barbara'

Asked by Spritzhenry on 2 Apr, 2008

This question is on Clematis 'Barbara'

Has anyone come across or grown a Clematis called 'Barbara' please? Not Barbara Jackman, just 'Barbara' and the label just says it's a Patens group. Is it a B/C group and how vigorous is it?

There is such a plant and it is an early flowering hybrid which needs just light pruning. It grows to about 2 to 2.5 metres.

Thank you for the link - I checked it out and it looks great - I am going to plant it on my new wooden obelisk! It's long-flowering, too. Just right. (Can't pronounce the name of the man who propagated it, though!) lol
