Hi, what soil do I use to pot on a adenium obesum, as the roots are breaking out of the pot. Dave

I'd be inclined to use John Innes No. 2 - the biggest problem with these plants is risk of rotting, so soil which drains easily is better. John Innes is loam based, and free draining. Alternatively, a good houseplant compost with perhaps some added sand or horticultural grit.

Plus pumice, pea gravel, and/or perlite. In nature they grow on gravelly hillsides in desert regions of southwest Africa.
