pulsatilla
Asked on 30 May, 2007
This looks like pulsatilla alpina on steriods, I am trying to discover what it actually is. Height 22 - 25 inches, flowers pale lemon with darker centre, they are 3 inches across when fully open, seed heads are huge and very decorative

If you were to see the seedheads you would realise it is certainly a Pulsatilla. I agree that leaves appear similar to poppy foliage, but there are certain obvious differences on closer inspection, difficult to see on a photograph. I have poppy Turkenlouis just in flower, it is fabulous. Must take a pic :0)
