Did you prune it at the wrong time? Hydrangeas need to have the dead heads and any dead wood removed in late March/ April, depending on where you live. And take out a few of the oldest branches in the centre of the bush at the same time if it's an old plant.

Yes hydrangeas rarely flower well after anything other than light or selective pruning

These need copious amounts of water (hence their name) and too little might be the cause of the lack of blooms.
