my cordyline died due to the very cold winter so i cut it down to a stump ready to dig up now i have found 4 small plants coming up from the base what should i do with these

You can just let them grow, Benson. Then you will have a cordyline with four trunks. Or if you just want one, select which one to keep and cut off the others. They look good with several trunks IMHO, but the choice is yours.
