When to plant out Camellia?

I have a beautiful Camellia on the verge of flowering....it is an Xmas pressie. At the moment it is in my cold greenhouse...would you keep it there till Spring or plant it out when it's not frosty...I don't want to lose the buds and it was under cover at the garden centre.

Yep definately keep it frost free, although some varieties do flower this early, most camelias are Spring flowering and even then on established plants frost will burn the flowers. Plant it out when the flowers have finished, in the Spring after danger of heavy frost has passed. Plant it with ericaceous (acidic) soil as camelias prefer a ph of less than 7.

« Hi I could really do with some tips for growing Juncus effusus seeds. Can you...
If it has been kept frost free so far, then I think it might be best to keep it that way until after frosts have finished. Better safe than sorry
