Hi this is Aina,
Ihave planted out some of my tomato plants today as they were growing too big fortheir pots.
I still have 30 g00d plants left to find space for.
Have any of you grown tomato plants in between runner beans and potatoes before?

I have some space in greenhouse to put some of them.
but for the rest there is only the heavy clay plot and I don't think they will enjoy growing in it.

The rest of the growing space that I have is for the 30 sweetcorns that are growing extremely well.

This is the first year that i HAVE GROWN ALOT OF VEG AND EVERYTHING HAS TAKEN VERY WELL.

Why not grow them in your flower borders if you have the space - In the past I've often grown vegetables in between some of my flowers.

yes me too. I do runner beans and sweet peas together. and i have been known pop lettuce/cabbage among some perennials too.

I don't think you should grow them in between your potatoes because they will still be fruiting long after you have lifted your potatoes. Last year my 4 year old grand daughter had tumbling tom tomatoes in a grow bag in which she was also growing runner beans so they seem to be happy together. My sister grows hers in amongst the flowers.

Unless you have a huge family and an awful lot of friends 30 tomato plants is rather more than you need. I'd have selected the best seedlings to grow on and given away the rest. Definitely don't plant the tomatoes in between your potato rows, you need air movement around your potatoes and the shaws and the tomatoes will compete for space. Also they are both solarnums so need to be in different parts of your garden.

How do I say thanks?
