my tomatoe plants that i have in a hanging basket are starting to get brown leafs on there edges, its also happening to my baby marigolds which i have grown from seed. what could it be can you help please?

Outside we are having some weather that is just too cold for them, cold wind especially - these easterlies we've been having this week would cause this sort of damage.
